The North Wall

The north wall most faithfully reflects the influence of the original Celtic/Anglo Saxon building.  The stones have remained unblackened, probably due to the lack of sun and therefore lichen and protection from the SW prevailing wind.  Some of the remaining plaster has a pink tinge, having been mixed with crushed tiles to hold and strengthen the plaster.
